About Competition

_Tile competition The Coverings Installation and Design (CID) Awards, the largest tile and stone show in North America with 9 miles of the latest trends and exhibitors from over 40 countries, are currently open for entries in the 2017 global competition.

The CID Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in the design and installation of tile and stone in both residential and commercial projects.

Architects, designers, installers, and contractors are invited to submit residential or commercial projects completed within the past two years (January 2015 – December 2016).

Each submission will include a 500-word project narrative, materials information and a minimum of four photographs of the project. (If submitting for an installation award, photographs of the actual install and a technical write up describing the install are required.)

Regardless of who submits the entry, both installer and designer/architect will be recognized for winning projects. Collaboration between installer and designer to submit the project is recommended but not required.

Projects can be located within or outside North America.

Multiple entries are encouraged and there is no fee to enter.

Projects will be judged and awarded based on technical installation and design. Projects will be judged on their levels of creativity, craftsmanship, and outstanding use of materials and achievement in the use of tile or stone within the residential and commercial project categories. Of particular interest are projects that demonstrate an original or unusual use of materials, incorporate an innovative technology, reflect installation excellence or successfully combine aesthetics with function in a unique and interesting way. Two grand-prize winners will be chosen from all submissions.

The scoring is based on a scale of 1 to 10; with 10 being high and 1 being low. Judges will evaluate entries using a blind format based on:

- excellence in execution and installation
- inspiring and original use of tile or stone
- overall design and purpose

There is no entry fee for this competition!

No Entry Fee!
