Athens Photo Festival 2026 (APhF:26) is now open for entries!

The Athens Photo Festival (APhF:26), the leading international festival of photography and related media in Southeastern Europe, has been recently opened for entries inviting all artists/photographers, collectives, curators, galleries and organizations worldwide to partecipate.

Short description

Athens Photo Festival now is accepting submissions from emerging and established artists and photographers from around the world for its 2026 exhibition program.

Founded in 1987 on the initiative of the late Stavros Moresopoulos, the Athens Photo Festival began as the International Month of Photography in Athens. It is Greece’s longest-running photography festival and one of the oldest internationally. In 2008, it adopted the name Athens Photo Festival, reflecting an expanded scope and a programme that has grown to include a wider range of programs responsive to contemporary social and aesthetic contexts.

Over nearly four decades, the festival has remained committed to advancing photography and lens-based practice in Greece, while serving as a vital meeting point for contemporary photography—connecting artists, audiences, and ideas.

The Festival invites projects from the entire spectrum of the photographic medium, ranging from fine art, conceptual, documentary photography, and photojournalism to other media, including video, performance, and installation. In this way, the organizers seek to stimulate a dialogue open to a variety of expressive means, thematic areas, and approaches – from a traditional photography background to the most contemporary practices.

You may submit up to 3 projects and you can submit up to 20 images per submission.

The selected works will be exhibited from 4 June 2026 to 28 July 2026 at the Benaki Museum/Pireos 138, one of the most prestigious museums in Greece, displayed in over 3,000 square meters of exhibition space.
