20th Bucharest International Jazz Competition 2026 : The Bucharest International Jazz Competition, one of the most appreciated jazz events has opened registration in its 20th edition for 2026 and like every year all jazz instrumentalists and vocalists, no older than 45, are invited to participate.

The Bucharest International Jazz Competition, one of the most appreciated jazz events organized by jmEvents is now open for registration in its 20th edition for 2026 inviting all jazz instrumentalists, bands and vocalists, no older than 45 to participate.

Bucharest International Jazz Competition is one of the most appreciated jazz events, by specialists and the public, the event being ranked among the first 3 European jazz competitions. Over the years, the Bucharest International Jazz Competition has proved to be a promoter for jazz musicians and bands, not only in Eastern Europe but all over the world. Its mission is to contribute to the acknowledgment of jazz values and to celebrate creativity and freedom of expression.

Bands may have up to 6 performing musicians and they may include:

➜ instrumentalists and vocalists
➜ instrumentalists
➜ vocalists

Individual musicians can apply also for the Jam Session section.

The winner will be chosen by a jury composed of artists and teachers, personalities of the international jazz world.

Between the 3rd and 11th of July 2026, Bucharest International Jazz Competition celebrates its 20th edition. The competition takes place during the International Festival EUROPAfest. It promises unforgettable meetings, thrilled audience, atmosphere, by combining concerts with jam sessions, workshops and jazz master-classes.

➜ Submission requirements:

➜ Recordings must have been made within the past 12 months.
➜ The application must include 2 - 3 pieces of different styles.

➜ Who may enter?

All jazz instrumentalists, bands and vocalists, no older than 40, are invited to participate.

➜ Prize:

The total amount of prizes for 2026 is 10,000 Euro, of which 1,500 Euro are reserved for the Grand Prize Winner.

➜ Entry fees:

The registration fee for one application / jazz band is 140 Euro.
