14th Annual Watermedia Showcase now is over!
14th Annual Watermedia Showcase: Artists Network and Watercolor Artist, recently has announced its 14th Watermedia Showcase, annual competition inviting all watermedia artists across the world who are 18 and older to showcase their best watercolor art.
➜ Short description
The 14th Annual Watermedia Showcase, organized by Artists Network and Watercolor Artist, now is calling for entries!
Submitted entries must be created primarily with water-based media (watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache or egg tempera) on a surface created for watermedia (paper; illustration board; paper-mounted board; watercolor canvas; or clay-coated surfaces, such as Claybord and Aquabord). Mixed-media entries are accepted, but watermedia must be the dominant element.
All eligible entries will be judged in two rounds using the following criteria:
➜ Artistic technique
➜ Handling of medium
➜ Design and creative elements
➜ Overall impression/impact
Award-winners and honorable mentions will be published in the Spring 2023 issue of Watercolor Artist.
➜ Who may enter?
Watermedia Showcase is open to all watermedia artists across the world who are 18 and older.
➜ Prize:
The Best of Show Winner will receive a $2,500 cash award and cash prizes will also be awarded to the Second and Thirds place winners.
Top award-winners will receive feature articles in the Spring 2023 issue of Watercolor Artist. All award-winning and honorable-mention-winning paintings will be published in the issue, and will receive a free Artists Network Membership for 1 year and a digital award-winner badge.
➜ Entry fees:
Entry fee for Members/Nonmembers is $30 per entry during the Early Bird Deadline (February 6, 2022). After that period ends entry fee for Nonmembers is $35.
