17th Fest Anča International Animation Festival 2024: The 17th Fest Anča International Animation Festival, specialized film festival in Bratislava has opened the call for entries for 2024 and is currently accepting new animated films from around the world with aim to contribute to the development and promotion of animation and the animated film industry.

Short description

Fest Anča International Animation Festival, the only Slovak multimedia festival focused on animated film and digital games has just opened its 2024 call for entries.

The festival aims to raise awareness about animated film as an autonomous art form, and to educate about its multiple types and aspects.

Fest Anča’s purpose is to show contemporary, progressive animated films and commemorate the best of the genre’s history.

Only short animated films and music videos, completed after 1st January 2022 and submitted with English subtitles, are accepted into the Festival’s competition program.

At Fest Anča 2023 there are following categories:

Best Animated Short
Best Student Animated Short
Best Animated Music Video
Best Animated Short for Children
Best Slovak Animated Short

The 16th Fest Anča will take place in Žilina, Slovakia, 25th June – 30th June 2024.

Fest Anča International Animation Festival is the first film festival in Slovakia with the prestigious status of Academy Awards Qualifying Festival. Short films awarded with the Anča Award in the categories Best Animated Short Film and Best Slovak Animated Short Film can thus compete in the short film category at the upcoming Oscars.

Who may enter?

This competition is open to everyone worldwide. There are also the children's and students category.

Best Slovak Animated Short (€1,500)

Entry fees:

You can submit for free until until 30th November 2023. Submissions registered during the period between 1st December and 31st December 2023 will be subject to a registration fee of 5 EUR per film. Submissions registered during the period between 1st January and 31st January 2024 (Late Deadline) will be subject to a registration fee of storng>10 EUR per film.
