2023 NTD International Figure Painting Competition: The New Tang Dynasty (NTD) Television International Figure Painting Competition has been recently opened for applications inviting all professional realistic artists, as a well teachers and students worldwide to participate to showcase their talents and revive the traditional art of realistic oil painting.

Short description

The New Tang Dynasty (NTD) Television International Figure Painting Competition now is calling for applications for 2023.

This is a great opportunity for artists from all around the world to showcase their talents and revive the traditional art of realistic oil painting.

Oil painting is the most popular and influential painting method in Western painting history. Among traditional Western painting works, oil painting has traditionally been the most popular and revered form of painting. Since many artists received large commissions from religious leaders, oil paintings were mainly created to glorify the magnificence of God and Heaven, high morality and exploits of sages as well as the beauty of natural landscapes and folkways. In particular, human and animal figures was the most important subjects of oil paintings, and reached high levels of excellence in the techniques of Western realistic oil painting. The competition’s mission is to promote the pure beauty, pure goodness, and pure authenticity of traditional painting.

Realistic artists worldwide are invited to submit figure paintings that convey traditional values, and positive ideals such as beauty, compassion, and righteousness.

The Finalist Exhibition will be held in New York City in June of 2023.

The Organizing Committee has the right to reproduce the finalists’ works. If works are reproduced in pursuant to related contracts, contestants are entitled to royalty from those copyrights.

Submission requirements:

Applicants should submit one high-resolution digital photograph for each competition entry. The file format should be JPEG or PNG (less than 30MB).

Who may enter?

The competition is open to all professional realistic artists, as well as fine art teachers and students, regardless of nationality.

Prize:

Outstanding Technique Award: US$1,000(Each)
Profound Humanities Award: US$1,000 (Each)
Outstanding Youth Award: US$1,000 (Each)
Honorable Mention Award: several winners

Entry fees:

The application fee is US$75 for the first entry and US$15 for each additional work submitted.
