9th Chania International Photo Festival is now open for entries!

The 9th Chania International Photo (CIP) Festival is calling for entries for 2026, with aim to turn the town of Chania, Crete, Greece into an international center of artistic expression focusing on photography.

The 9th Chania International Photo (CIP) Festival is calling for entries for 2026, inviting all photographers, amateurs and professionals who are over 18 to participate.

Chania International Photo festival has been created by Blank Wall Gallery . The festival aims to turn the town of Chania, Crete, Greece into an international center of artistic expression focusing on photography. During the last eight years, the organizers managed to make this festival an established international institution.

Participants can take part in one of the following 16 categories:

Cityscape
Monochrome
Fine art
Street Photography
Landscape
Travelling
Color
Portraits
Wildlife
Abstract
Architecture
Conceptual
Documentary
Micro
Nature
Panoramic

Each photographer is entitled to a single submission to which the photographer may submit from one to five photographs.

The photographers chosen for the exhibition agree to supply a high-resolution file in any format they wish, suitable for printing upon request.

An international committee in cooperation with Blank Wall Gallery will choose the photographs that will take part in the festival and will nominate the first three winners.

Selected photographers will participate in the festival’s exhibition. All artists taking part in the festival will receive a Certificate of Achievement mentioning their participation in the CIP Festival 2026.

The 9th festival will take place in a building dating back from 1595, known as the Grand Arsenali.

Who may enter?

All photographers, amateurs and professionals who are over 18, are eligible to participate to the contest.

Prize:

Selected photographers will participate in the festival’s exhibition. All artists taking part in the festival will receive a Certificate of Achievement mentioning their participation in the CIP Festival 2026.

Entry fees:

Submission is totally free of charge. Only those who will be chosen to participate in the festival will have to pay a participation fee.

The participation fee for the chosen photographers is €43.

If more than one photographs are chosen to be exhibited at the festival from the same artist, the fee will be adjusted accordingly.
