The International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) Committee invites you to get involved in Compost Awareness Week 2026 Poster Contest, international annual poster competition that every year invites creative minds to participate.
This competition is organized by the Compost Research & Education Foundation based in Raleigh, United States of America and is the largest and most comprehensive education initiative of the compost industry.
Each year, the International Compost Awareness Week Committee in the US holds a poster contest to pick a new design for the annual poster.
This vibrant competition offers individuals a unique opportunity to showcase their artistic talents while championing the cause of sustainable environmental practices.
Each year, ICAW selects a new theme to focus public attention on different aspects of composting, making it a vital part of the broader environmental conservation efforts.
The central theme for 2026 edition is "Compost! Feed the Soil that Feeds Us"..
The concept and images of the poster should be based on the benefits of compost and composting food and yard waste. Compost is the focus of the contest. The judges will especially look for images that demonstrate that organic materials are a key component to healthy soils and for keeping soils and the environment healthy in the future.
When creating your poster, please remember that the winning poster will be reproduced and distributed nationally.
The goal is to work together to raise public awareness on why we all should be composting our organics recycling and using compost. The program includes poster and video contests in the fall and activities and events held during the week in May.
This is a fun contest but with an important environmental purpose. It helps to get the word out about the benefits of compost use and recycling organics.
