The Nami Concours 2026, organised by Nami Island (Korea) recently announced for entries is an internationally recognized picture book illustration competition that takes place every two years on Nami Island in South Korea.

This event has become one of the most prestigious platforms for illustrators around the world.

This competition aims to encourage artists’ creativity and contribute to the advancement of the quality of picture book illustrations.

Participants are invited to submit a cohesive series of up to five illustrations that together form a visual story, showcasing their unique artistic voice and storytelling abilities.

With no restrictions on theme, artists have the freedom to explore diverse concepts, styles, and narratives, making the competition a rich showcase of global talent in children’s literature and visual arts.

Submission requirements:

➜ Entrants may submit 5 illustrations for picture book, on any theme. A set of illustrations should comprise one story. The size of each image may differ as long as the total sum is no bigger than 20MB.

➜ You can submit both published and unpublished illustrations. You can also submit a wordless picture book. However, each applicant is required to submit a synopsis of 300 letters maximum in English.

➜ Only books published within the recent 5 years (2018-2022) can be submitted.

This competition is open worldwide to all picture book illustrators in the world.

Prize:

➜ Grand Prix (1): plaque and 10,000 USD
➜ Golden Island (2): plaque and 5,000 USD
➜ Green Island (5): plaque and 2,000 USD
➜ Purple Island (10): certificate and plaque
