‘SITE TOWER’ International Architecture Ideas Competition: ARKxSITE is pleased to announce the ‘SITE TOWER’ International Architecture Ideas Competition, like every year inviting all architecture students and young professionals under 40 years old to participate.

➜ Short description

ARKxSITE is pleased to announce the ‘SITE TOWER’ international architecture ideas competition for architecture students and young professionals under 40 years old.

This international one-stage architecture ideas competition invites all architecture students, young architects and young professionals with a degree in architecture studies under 40 years old to develop and submit compelling ideas for the design of a Site Tower located in the beautiful scenery of Monsaraz, Alentejo, Portugal.

The Site Tower is a secluded landmark, a place to capture the history of the site and engage with the landscape and beautiful scenery of the Alqueva lake. Mediating between exterior and interior spaces from the ground to the emptiness above, it is an embodied experience of light and air through movement and places of rest; a contemplative journey through memory, time and place.

➜ Evaluation Criteria:

• Originality and quality of the proposals design vision
• Responsiveness of the proposal to the competition’s objectives
• Appropriateness to the site and it’s context
• Quality and clarity of the presentation

Results will be announced on July 23, 2021.

➜ Who may enter?

This ideas architecture competition invites all architecture students, young architects and young professionals with a degree in architecture studies (≤ 40 years old) to participate.

➜ Prize:

The jury member will award 3 prizes and 7 honorable mentions.

➜ 1st prize - 2000 Euros
➜ 2nd prize - 1000 Euros
➜ 3rd prize - 500 Euros

➜ Entry fees:

Entry fee is 60 Euros + VAT duing the Early Registration period (January 21 - March 22, 2021), after that period ends the amount of fee will increase.
