The 12th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints: The 12th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints, hosted by the Ino-cho Paper Museum, a museum of Japanese traditional paper based in Ino, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan, has been recently opened for entries, limited to those artwork submissions that use paper as the primary material.

Short description

This competition is hosted by the Ino-cho Paper Museum, a museum of Japanese traditional paper based in Ino, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan.

The Kochi Triennial Exhibition of Prints was first organized with the purpose of returning to one of the origins of the fine arts in order to rethink what they really mean in the modern world, where they are becoming increasingly diverse. It is also organisers hope to contribute to the evolution of woodblock art.

Since the exhibition is hosted in Kochi, a world-class producer of Japanese traditional paper, artwork submissions are limited to those that use paper as the primary material. Every three years, the Exhibition unfolds new worlds of woodblock art with its warmth and richness of expression. Accepting high-quality submissions from artists around the world, the Triennial Exhibition of Prints has gained renown as an international exhibition.

All entries must be original prints on paper. The maximum paper size is 100 x 100 cm (40 x 40 inches).

Artists can submit a maximum of three works.

The competition is open to artists from around the world.

Prize:

1st Prize: 1,000,000 yen
2nd Prize: 500,000 yen
3rd Prize: 300,000 yen
4th Prize: 200,000 yen
The Museum of Art, Kochi Prize: 300,000 yen
Takao Hiwasaki Prize: 300,000 yen
Tosa Washi Prize: 200,000 yen

Entry fees:

The entry fee for artists from Japan is ¥ 9,000. If the entrant submits his/her work from overseas, they will be exempt from the entry fee.
