The TDC73 Annual Typography Competition invites designers, typographers and lettering artists worldwide to submit outstanding creative work celebrating innovation and excellence in typography and visual communication.
Competition Details
The Type Directors Club (TDC) invites entries to the TDC73 Annual Typography Competition, an international competition celebrating excellence, creativity and innovation in typography, lettering and type design.
Established in 1953, the TDC Annual Competition recognizes outstanding typographic work from around the world, highlighting the role of typography in contemporary design, communication and visual culture.
The 73rd edition features the theme “Be Bold, Be Seen (All Characters Welcome)”, celebrating the diversity of typographic expression across different languages, cultures and creative disciplines.
The competition welcomes projects across three main disciplines:
➜ Communication Design: Creative work in which typography plays a significant role, including branding, editorial design, packaging, digital experiences, motion graphics and visual communication.
➜ Lettering: Original lettering, calligraphy, custom letterforms, hand-drawn typography and experimental approaches to letter creation.
➜ Type Design: Original typeface designs and innovative typographic systems developed for a wide range of applications.
Entries are evaluated by international juries with expertise in typography and diverse writing systems. Selected works will be recognized among the year's outstanding achievements in typographic design.
The competition is organized by the Type Directors Club, part of The One Club for Creativity.

Open to professional designers, typographers, lettering artists and creative practitioners worldwide.
