Celebrate basketball through powerful photography in the 10th edition of the FIBA Photo Contest.
The FIBA Photo Contest 2026 invites professional and amateur photographers worldwide to submit powerful basketball images across three categories celebrating elite competition, community life and the history of the game.
Short description
The FIBA Photo Contest 2026 is now open for entries, marking the 10th edition of the international photography competition organized by the FIBA Foundation.
Running from 30 September to 4 December 2026, the contest invites photographers from around the world to celebrate basketball through compelling images that capture the game, its people, its history and its impact on communities worldwide.
For its milestone tenth edition, the competition introduces a new format featuring three dedicated photography categories, giving participants different ways to explore basketball culture and storytelling.
Elite Basketball
This category focuses on basketball at the highest competitive level, including elite leagues, international championships, major tournaments and prestigious competitions. Photographers are encouraged to capture decisive moments, athletes, emotion and the intensity of top-level basketball.
Community Basketball
This category celebrates the way basketball connects people and communities. Eligible subjects include Basketball For Good initiatives, street basketball, playgrounds, schools and local courts, with particular emphasis on inclusion, diversity and the social power of the game.
Vintage Basketball
Participants can explore their archives and submit historical basketball photographs taken in the past through to the early 2000s. Images may portray basketball on courts, streets, in schools, clubs, tournaments or community gatherings and should reflect the atmosphere, people and cultural heritage of the sport.
Participants may submit contemporary work or historical archive photographs depending on the selected competition category.
The FIBA Photo Contest is one of the cultural initiatives developed by the FIBA Foundation, the social and legacy arm of FIBA, which works to preserve and promote basketball's cultural heritage and its ability to connect communities around the world.
