Short description
The Capital City of Podgorica recently has launched an international design competition for the conceptual urban and architectural design of a residential and mixed-use complex within the ’Gradski Stan’ (City Housing) project.
The competition site comprises three connected urban parcels, with a total area of approximately 18,600 m², located in a rapidly developing urban district of Podgorica.
The objective of the competition is to obtain a high-quality, functional, and sustainable design solution that provides a contemporary model of affordable housing.
The proposed design should address the need for diverse apartment typologies, flexible and modular spatial organisation, well-designed communal and green spaces, and a high level of energy efficiency and climate resilience.
’Gradski Stan’ is conceived as a pilot project for the future of public housing in Podgorica, aiming to promote social inclusion, improve the quality of life, and set a new standard for the built environment in the city.
The authors of the winning proposal will be required to submit revised documentation in accordance with the jury's recommendations within 10 working days after the announcement of results.
