German Innovation Awards 2025 is now open for entries!
German Innovation Awards 2025, presented by the German Design Council has been recently announced inviting companies from all industries and sectors of the economy, as well as non-commercial and governmental organizations from all over the world to participate.
Short description
The German Innovation Awards, presented by the German Design Council , is the internationally recognised prize that honours innovations that drive real progress with bold ideas, smart solutions, and lasting impact.
Since 2017, the German Innovation Awards have shone a light on pioneering ideas. The awards celebrate innovations that truly make a difference: through smart technologies, meaningful impact and forward-looking thinking.
They show how technologies, products and services can help shape a future that is socially just, environmentally responsible and economically viable.
You can enter your project in one of two disciplines (each discipline includes several categories): Excellence in Business to Consumer and Excellence in Business to Business.
Only projects launched or published within the last five years are eligible to participate. You may submit as many projects as you wish, including across different categories.
Your project will be reviewed and discussed by an international, interdisciplinary panel of experts – independent and with an eye for excellence. They judge what really matters: innovation potential, user benefit and long-term relevance.
Submissions are assessed based on the degree of innovation, user benefit, and economic viability. The innovation strategy should take into account aspects such as social, ecological, and economic sustainability, as well as the use of energy and resources. Additional factors such as potential for local employment and economic development, longevity, market readiness, technical quality and functionality, material characteristics, and synergies also play a decisive role in the evaluation process.
If your project is selected as a Winner or Gold recipient, you will be notified via email – in time and with all necessary next steps.
All award winners will receive their personal invitation to the Awards Ceremony in spring. The Awards Ceremony is more than just a prize. This is where your innovation gets the recognition it deserves: visibility from industry experts and access to a network that’s shaping the future. At the heart of the event are the Gold Awards, presented on the big stage.
Submission requirements:
➜ You can design your submission as a PDF presentation and/or as a film. Only PDF and MPEG4 files are accepted. In the case of embedded video clips in PDF presentations, please also upload the film separately as a file.
➜ Multiple PDF presentations must be combined, but should not exceed the maximum page count of 15 pages. The maximum movie length is 120 seconds. The maximum file size when uploading is 50 MB.
➜ With the registration confirmation you will receive an upload link where you can provide organiser with your presentation. A maximum of 2 files can be uploaded: 1x PDF and/or 1x MPEG4. All files must be clearly marked with the project ID.
➜ The Presentations must be prepared in German or English.
