Head On Photo Awards 2022

Head On Photo Awards 2022 now is over!

Head On Photo Awards 2022, Australia’s most prestigious photography event and one of the world’s leading annual photography festivals has been recently opened for entries inviting all professional, emerging and enthusiast photographers from classical to contemporary styles to partecipate with they best work.

Short description

Head On Photo Awards 2022 now is calling for entries! This is Australia’s most prestigious photography event and one of the world’s leading photography festivals and also only annual photography festival in Australia.

Held in Sydney over three weeks, it hosts numerous free events and exhibitions, low-cost workshops and talks led by Australian and international industry professionals.

The Festival encompasses the prestigious Head On Photo Awards, which represent a global selection of the best work from emerging and established photographers across three categories:

Portrait: the image must feature or reflect the essence of a person or group of people and must be photographed by the Applicant. Group portraits, self-portraits and collages are accepted.

Landscape: Head On’s approach to ‘Landscape’ is very broad and encompasses ‘large vista’ images of the natural environment (land or sea), urban or industrial settings. It may include people, but these should be ‘incidental’ rather than the main subject matter.

Student: open to year K-12 students enrolled in an Australian school or are homeschooled within Australia. Students may also enter the Portrait and Landscape categories.

Images must be produced by a photographic device (including mobile devices) that captures images (experimental processes welcome), in colour and/or black & white. You may enhance the image and apply filters.

Eligibility

This competition is open worldwide to photographers of all levels.

Benefits

The Head On Photo Awards winners will share a massive prize pool, previously reaching 70,000 AUD, including 30,500 AUDcash.

Entry fees

Entry fee is 30 AUD and that's approx. 21 USD per image.
