Hoowave Resilient Township and Waterfront Landscape Design International Competition: Taiwan Water Resources Agency is hosting the first international competition Hoowave Resilient Township and Waterfront Landscape Design International Competition for combining hydraulic engineering, resilience planning and space aesthetics in Taiwan.

Short description

Taiwan Water Resources Agency and "Hoowave Resilient Township Waterfornt Landscape Design International Competition" invites global architect firms, technician firms, engineering consulting companies or other legal persons that are legally required to provide technical services, break through the framework of traditional water conservancy projects, and jointly conceive the innovative proposal of “Huwei Resilient and Waterfront Landscape Design“.

"Hoowave Resilient Township and Waterfront Landscape Design International Competition" intends to break through traditional river engineering design, introduce innovative ideas, and hope to establish a demonstration model of river design aesthetics through the perspective of resilient planning, which includes a design blueprint for the overall concept, and integrate existing cultural resources.

In order to cooperate with local urban development, continue the historical and cultural context of the sugar industry, create a vision of waterfront stitching that integrates "water and safety", "water and environment" and "water and culture", inject new energy into Huwei Town, and create a unique Charming waterfront resilient town with charming riverfronts.

In order to bring innovation to traditional water conservancy projects that focus on flood control of watercourses, ”Hoowave Resilient Township and Waterfront Landscape Design International Competition” intends to optimize the spatial landscape, humanistic beauty, landscape ecology, and local revitalization of water conservancy projects and their surrounding areas through comprehensive and cross-field design integration, to build an amenity-oriented environment and amenity space.
By breaking through the traditional thinking of watercourse management, this project intends to solve local problems or regional development bottlenecks relating to water by design thinking and design innovation.

Who may enter?

Domestic and foreign professional designers of water conservancy, landscape, architecture, civil engineering, and planning, are invited to participate.

The total prize is NT$3,000,000.
