The Jalón Ángel Photographic Archive, guarded by the San Jorge University (San Valero Group), is organising the 12th Jalón Ángel International Photography Prize.

Jalón Ángel Photography Awards 2026, organized by Jalón Ángel Photographic Archive in Spain, now is calling for entries.
Ángel Hilario García de Jalón Hueto (1898-1976), better known as Jalón Ángel, was one of the most prominent figures of portrait photography in Spain during his 50 years of professional career. This photographer, of great social and human impact, began his earliest training in Logroño and perfected it in the first decade of the twentieth century, first in Lyon and then in Paris. In 1926 he settled in Zaragoza, where he combined his most personal and creative photography, specialising in travel, urban and natural landscapes, with his studio portraits.
This award pays tribute to the memory of Jalón Ángel with two annual categories:

➜ Travel
➜ Migration and borders
You can submit one image into each category.
Who may enter?
The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18.
Prize:
➜ The best photograph in the "Portrait" category: 1,500 €
➜ The best photograph in the "Travel" category: 1,500 €
➜ The best photograph in the "Migration and borders" category: 1,500 €
