Locarno Film Festival 2023 Poster Competition now is over!
Locarno Film Festival, great live event and a meeting point for artists and audiovisual professionals from all over the world, this year has decided to invite international graphic designers, artists and creators to come up with the poster for its 76th edition.
After the success of the first editions, international competition to design the official poster that will represent the 76th edition of the Locarno Film Festival is back!
The Locarno Film Festival is holding a competition open to all creative people, regardless of age or background, to interpret the spirit of one of the most internationally recognised festivals.
Every year, the Locarno Film Festival unveils a selection of the best global independent and experimental productions and hosts innovative outlooks and projects, to create previously unseen images together, freely. To strengthen this dialogue, this year the Festival also this year has decided to invite international graphic designers, artists and creators to come up with the poster for the 76th edition to interpret the spirit of one of the most internationally recognised festivals. The selection criteria are based on the consistency of the artwork with the Locarno Film Festival’s identity, on its originality, and versatility. The jury will favor ideas that can be developed in various formats and on digital platforms (website, social media, app) and traditional platforms (posters, merchandising, covers of official publications, brochures).
➜ It must evoke the identity of the Locarno Film Festival and the nature of the event as a meeting place for different visions and imaginaries.
➜ The layout must consider the predetermined spaces for the edition’s logo and our Main partners’ logos, although without having to include them in the artwork. An example can be found at this link.
➜ The image must be uploaded in horizontal format, jpg/png, in good resolution (150/300 dpi). For selection purposes, it is preferred, but not mandatory, to attach a single zip file containing other materials to complement the proposal (such as vertical format, examples of application, like mockups and merchandising elements, and animations).
The competition is open to everyone: graphic designers, illustrators, designers, photographers, artists, but also creatives and enthusiasts from all over the world and without age limits, who interpret the spirit of the Festival for the graphic concept of the next edition.
The project chosen by the jury will win a prize of 5,000 Swiss francs.
There is no entry fee to participate!
