Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2026 is now open for entries!

The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2026 has been recently opened for entries, organized by PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, now in its 10th year awards photographers whose work has demonstrated excellence in the field of photography.

Short description

The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2026, a collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, will be awarded for the 10th time this year for a body of work that demonstrates excellence in the field of photography.

Photographers from all parts of the world are invited to participate with their best works.

You can submit 6 to 12 images. There is no restriction to submitting work that has already been part of other photo competitions. Applications must be submitted in strong>English. Any manipulation is possible.

A professional independent jury of leading international professionals will review all shortlisted candidates anonymously and will select a photographer who demonstrates thought, quality, originality, and excellence in photography, as well as the potential to create a comprehensive body of work suitable for a solo exhibition. The judges will be expected to select a series or body of work which represents a distinct and compelling personal voice.

The winner will be announced in November 2026. The panelists will select 20 finalists for a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival 2027, which will take place in November 2026 in Tel Aviv. The award winner will be announced during the festival. During the course of that year, the winner will work on the exhibition together with PHOTO IS:RAEL’s Chief Curator.

Prize:

The 20 finalists will be showcased in a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival in November 2026 in Tel Aviv. The award winner will receive a $14,000 grant, composed of a personal grant of $2,500, curatorial guidance, and the production of a solo exhibition that will be part of the 2027 International Photography Festival.

Entry fees:

Early registration fee is $35 (until 19th March 2026), Late registration fee is 45$ (from 20th March 2026)
