Short description

Neilma Sidney Short Story Prize 2025, organized by Overland, an Australian literary and cultural magazine, has been recently opened for entries inviting all writers, nationally and internationally, at any stage of their writing career to participate.

Participants are invited to submit original pieces of short fiction written in English, up to 3000 words in length, themed around the notion of ‘travel’ — imaginative, creative and literary interpretations are strongly encouraged.

Stories that have won or are under consideration in other competitions are not eligible (including Overland).

Multiple entries are acceptable.

The winning entries will be published in Overland. Other entries may be considered for publication.
