Pro Carton Young Designers Award 2022 now is over!

Pro Carton Young Designers Award 2022: The Pro Carton Young Designers Award, one of Europe’s leading young packaging design awards has been recently opened for entries for 2022, giving young designers both professional recognition as well as a networking platform with industry, a first step towards a professional career.

Short description

The Pro Carton Young Designers Award, one of Europe’s leading student competitions for packaging design, organised by Pro Carton, European Association of Carton and Cartonboard manufacturers now is accepting entries for 2022.

Focussing exclusively on cartonboard, the award plays a pioneering role in promoting sustainability as well as innovation in the European packaging industry.

Entries can be submitted across these categories:

Creative Cartonboard Packaging Eat & Drink: The focus lies on cartonboard as the most sustainable food and beverages packaging material and its recyclability. Give us a taste of great design!

Creative Cartonboard Packaging All Other – excluding Eat & Drink: This category is focussed on using the most sustainable packaging material for non-food packaging. Everything needs packaging, have a look around yourself and get inspired!

Creative Cartonboard Ideas: Think outside the box! Here is a chance for you to put forward your cartonboard ideas outside of the packaging market.

Save the Planet: Show us your ideas as to how cartonboard can reduce or replace plastic and help us save the planet!

The winners and their teachers will be invited to the Award Gala ceremony in September. They will also be traveling to Germany for the Practical Training Days and visit the facilities of WEIG Karton and WEIG Packaging, a leading European cartonboard manufacturer and folding carton producer.

Submission requirements:

You should submit physical 3D samples of your designs but illustrations or two dimensional layouts are also welcome.

If you receive an email confirming that you have been successfully shortlisted then send us your physical 3D prototype together with a description, on 1 x A4 page, which must accompany all 3D samples.

Who may enter?

Open to all students enrolled at a European school or university. Teachers can make the award a course project. If you are a student, encourage your teachers to let you participate.
