‘SITE SHELTER’ International Architecture Ideas Competition: ARKxSITE is pleased to announce the ‘SITE SHELTER’ International Architecture Ideas Competition for architecture and landscape architecture students and young professionals under 40 years old.

Short description

ARKxSITE once again is pleased to announce the ‘SITE SHELTER’ international architecture ideas competition. The Site Shelter is an embodied experience of air, light, sound and temperature through movement and places of rest; meandering through exterior and interior shelter, between contrasts of shade, shadow and light. An open-air permeable museum for visitors to engage with the history, the land and the ocean. It is a sheltered place for the existing ruins and visitors alike, offering a unique experience within this remarkable landscape; a contemplative passage through place, time and memory. This international one-stage architecture ideas competition invites all architecture and landscape architecture students, young architects and landscape architects, young professionals with a degree in architecture studies or landscape architecture studies under 40 years old to develop and submit compelling ideas for the design of a Site Shelter located at the ‘Nossa Senhora da Luz’ Fortress, Peniche, Portugal.

Evaluation Criteria:

➜ Originality and quality of the proposals design vision
➜ Responsiveness of the proposal to the competition’s objectives
➜ Appropriateness to the site and it’s context
➜ Quality and clarity of the presentation

Who may enter?

This ideas architecture competition invites all architecture students, young architects and young professionals with a degree in architecture studies (≤ 40 years old) to participate.

Prize:

The jury member will award 3 prizes and 7 honorable mentions:

➜ 1st prize - 2000 Euros
➜ 2nd prize - 1000 Euros
➜ 3rd prize - 500 Euros

Entry fees:

Entry fee is 60 Euros + VAT duing the Early Registration period (May 15 - July 26, 2021), after that period ends the amount of fee will increase.
