Standard Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year 2024: Standard Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year, international competition hosted by the Royal Meteorological Society, has been recently announced for entries open to photographers of all ages and abilities, including professionals and amateurs.
Short description
Standard Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year, now is open for entries!
Now in its ninth year, Standard Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year showcases the world's most striking weather and climate photographs and provides an international platform to raise awareness about the environmental issues putting our planet at risk.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world today, and its impact on the environment and human health significantly affects sustainable economic growth and the future of society. The competition, hosted by the Royal Meteorological Society, provides an ongoing commentary on the fragility and beauty of the planet.
Photographs submitted for the competition must have been taken between the 18 June 2019 and 18 June 2024.
You can enter up to 5 images per category (Weather Photographer of the Year, Young Weather Photographer of the Year and Weather Photographer of the Year – Mobile Phone category). The same image can be entered into more than one opportunity if the eligibility criteria for those opportunities are met.
This year's judging panel includes experienced meteorologists, photographers and photo editors. They will look for images that combine photographic skill with meteorological observation and storytelling.
Shortlisted entries will also be put to a public vote in August and September, giving you the opportunity to be crowned public favourite! Winners and runner-ups will be announced on Wednesday, 30 October 2024.
