XI International Photography Contest “Educating the Eye” now is over!
XI International Photography Contest “Educating the Eye”: XI International Photography Contest “Educating the Eye” organized by the Photographic Association Educating the Eye in collaboration with the Library Mercè Rodoreda (Platja d'Aro, Spain) has been recently opened for entries inviting international photographers, whether professional or amateur to participate.
➜ Short description
For the eleventh consecutive year, the Mercè Rodoreda library in Castell-Platja d’Aro and s’Agaró, with the support of the Photographic Association Educating the Eye, organizes the international competition of photographic projects “Educating the Eye”.
The theme of each project is free of choice, as well as the technique used. Photos must have been taken with any device that has a camera. Creativity and expressive capacity will be valued mainly.
Each author can present a maximum of two photographic projects. Each project should consist of 6-12 photos.
The creativity and expressive capacity of the projects will be especially valued.
➜ Submission requirements:
➜ The only requirement is that the images must have been taken with a photographic camera or any other device with camera; all sorts of manipulation and hybridization are allowed. The original image files should be printable in photographic quality with a minimum size of DinA4 (min. 3600px at the large side).
➜ The projects should consist of a theoretical part, in a dossier and a set of 6 to 12 images.
The dossier of the project submission should be uploaded in PDF and must include the following items:
Part I:
• Name and family name, age, city, country, email address, telephone number at least one contact person
• Background: Presentation of the author or group of authors (500-800 characters)
Part II:
• Project Title
• Definition of the project (maximum 500 characters)
• Explanation and motivations
➜ From 6 to 12 images should be presented at 72 dpi in jpeg, sRGB color space and 1920 pixels on the longest side of the image, for each project presented. The maximum upload size is 3Mb per image.
Finalists and winners will be requested to send the files in a larger size (minimum size 3600px on the long side) to allow for print usage at an exhibition.

The contest welcomes professional or amateur photographers, individuals or groups.

➜ First prize: €2,000
➜ Second prize: €1,000
➜ Third prize: €500
➜ Prize for young author (under 35 years old): €1,000
➜ Local prize (for authors residing in the province of Girona): €750
In addition, there will be an exhibition with the winning and finalist projects.
