15th Manga Kingdom Tottori International Comic Art Contest is now open for entries!
15th Manga Kingdom Tottori International Comic Art Contest, international illustration competition organized by Tottori Prefecture in Japan has been recently opened for entries inviting illustrators to submit their original manga based on the theme of “Clothes”.
Short description
The 15th Manga Kingdom Tottori International Comic Art Contest, international illustration competition organized by Tottori Prefecture in Japan has been recently opened for entries.
Illustrators are invited to submit their original manga based on the theme of “Clothes”.
There are three categories:
• 1 frame manga (1 page)
• 4 frame manga (1-8 pages)
• 4 to 24 page manga story
Participants may submit entries in multiple categories. All works must be original and unpublished (works published as doujinshi are acceptable).
A separate selection committee (Manga Kingdom Tottori International Comic Art Contest Selection Committee) consisting of manga artists, manga researchers, and others will select the winning artworks in a two stage selection process.
The selection committee will review all three categories and select one work to be awarded the Grand Prize. Additional works will be considered for other awards.
Prize winning works will be announced around December 2026.
An award ceremony will be held around February 2027 in Tottori Prefecture. All winners will receive an invitation to the award ceremony.
Submission requirements
(1) General criteria:
a) Original paper size must be B4 (257mm X 364mm) or A4(210mm X 297mm).
b) Write the title and text in Japanese or in your own native language.
c) Submitted work may be in color or black and white (or a combination of both).
d) Page numbers should be clearly visible at the bottom of each page.
(2) For hand-drawn hard copy:
a) Double-sided works will not be accepted.
b) Title and text must be clearly written and readable.
(3) For soft copy:
The file format of the submitted data must be in .pdf format
For black and white data submissions, it's recommended a display resolution of 600dpi or more.
For color data submissions, it's recommended a display resolution of 350dpi or more.
Maximum size for upload is 100MB.
Eligibility
The contest is open to artists of all nationalities and ages. There are no specific eligibility requirements, and submissions from artists of all ages and nationalities will be accepted.
Prize
The contest prizes consist of the following:
➜ Grand Prize: 500,000 yen
➜ Merit award (2 works): 100,000 yen
➜ Selection Committee Award (3 works): 50,000 yen
➜ U-15 Youth Manga Artist Prize (3 works): prize item (30,000 yen value)
