The 2027 C-IDEA Design Award, international competition recently opened for entries invites students, professionals and companies worldwide to submit original work across architecture, interior, product, graphic and other design disciplines
Short description
The 2027 C-IDEA Design Award is an international competition recognising original work across a broad range of design disciplines. Designers can enter completed projects, concepts and products that have already been published or brought to market. Entries must be the participants’ own work.
The competition offers two themes: Free Theme, open to design work on any subject, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Future, which invites ideas exploring the use of AI in fields such as service, sustainable, medical and social design.
The award accepts entries in visual and communication design, product design, packaging, architecture, interior design, UI/UX, fashion, lifestyle accessories, film and animation, game design, intelligent interaction and conceptual design, as well as other disciplines.
An international jury evaluates entries for qualities including innovation, artistic and commercial value, social relevance and expression of the theme. Following online preselection, selected entrants proceed to the final evaluation. Winners are expected to be announced in March 2027; the date of the award ceremony will be communicated to winners by email.
Applications close on 31 January 2027. An early bird fee is available until 30 November 2026.
Submission requirements
➜ Provide the names of all participants, the project title, the chosen theme and category, and a project description of no more than 150 words.
➜ Files: The online form allows up to four uploads. Images must be JPG or PNG, RGB, A4 at 150 dpi, with a maximum size of 5 MB per file. The form also accepts a PDF of up to 15 MB and 10 pages. Videos can be linked through an additional media field.
➜ Important: The organiser states that submitted registration information and work cannot be modified after submission. Additional instructions may be sent to entrants selected for the final evaluation.
Eligibility
Design professionals, companies, design groups, institutions, design educators and students may apply. For a Students category entrants must be 26 or younger. Students whose work is selected must provide a student ID.
Benefits
Student and professional awards include the C-IDEA Grand Award, Best Design Awards in each category, and Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, alongside other distinctions.
Winners may receive a printable certificate, permission to use the 2027 award logo, opportunities for inclusion in the award yearbook and international media coverage, and admission to the award ceremony. Grand Award and Best Design Award winners receive a trophy free of charge; other winners may purchase one.
A Grand Award winner may be nominated to join the C-IDEA International Jury.
Entry fees
➜ Early bird (until 30 November 2026) €35 per entry for professionals and companies. The first student entry is free; additional student entries cost €10 each.
➜ Regular (1 December 2026 to 31 January 2027) €50 per entry for professionals and companies. The first student entry is free; additional student entries cost €15 each.
➜ Finalist nomination fee: Entrants selected after online preselection must pay a further fee for final jury consideration: €150 per professional entry or €300 per company entry. The first student entry is free at this stage; additional student entries cost €50 each.
