The FOTOAWARD 2026 - International Photography Contest has been recently announced for entries in its 8th year inviting only experienced photographers to participate.
FOTOAWARD is about quality, not quantity. Participation is by invitation only, after a preliminary review of sample works, photography websites, or Instagram portfolios.
Entry is limited to invited, selected accomplished photographers. For 2025, the FOTOAWARD contest has been adapted to accommodate English-speaking participants.
There is a special challenge in the absence of genre-based categories or nominations.
Works that have won other competitions are welcome. The shooting date does not matter.
The contest does not have categories or genre-based nominations. Participants may submit up to 2 works per day.
Composite images and digital manipulation are allowed but should be tagged accordingly if not apparent. Upon request, participants must provide the original file, including the RAW format if available. Use of third-party or AI-generated elements is prohibited.
This initial stage is followed by two rounds conducted by juries, which include world-renowned photographers from various countries. The judging process is powered by a sophisticated, transparent online voting platform hosted at FOTOAWARD.org, with integrated AI features.
The quality of FOTOAWARD speaks for itself through the winning photographs. Winners are selected by the most renowned, award-winning photographers whose credits include multiple World Press Photo awards, Wildlife Photographer of the Year wins (including a WPY Grand Prize), National Geographic assignments, and the Order of Canada.
Results will be announced on February 2027.
Submission requirements
➜ Image size need to be at least 1200 pixels on the longer side, max 4MB, saved as jpeg/jpg or png.
➜ Include links to 5–10 photos you wish to submit, or attach them. Links are preferred.
Eligibility
Only experienced photographers are invited to participate in this competition. The minimum participation age is 18.
