25th Andreu World International Design Contest is now open for entries!
The Andreu World International Design Contest 2026, international annual furniture design competition has been recently announced, inviting both design students and professionals to take a part and to submit new sustainable designs for a chair or table that integrates all the specifications outlined by Andreu World.
Short description
The Andreu World International Design Contest 2026 is a globally recognized annual competition dedicated to fostering innovation in furniture design, specifically targeting sustainable and eco-friendly solutions for seating and tables.
This edition, which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the contest, aims to create furniture designed for the circular economy, with a positive impact on people and the planet. It promotes designs that combine creativity, functionality, and respect for the environment.
The projects submitted must reflect Andreu World’s values: good design, innovation, sustainability, and responsible production. Contestants may submit a design for a chair and/or table that meets these principles.
➜ The seating category includes: chairs, armchairs, stools, benches and sofas.
➜ The tables category includes: meeting and conference tables, coffee tables and side tables.
ENVIROMENTAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
Designs will be evaluated based on their approach to sustainability throughout their life cycle, which includes the following aspects:
➜ Selection of Materials: Use of renewable, recycled or low-impact materials.
➜ Manufacturing process: Low-impact processes, waste minimization and energy efficiency.
➜ Circular Design: Reusability and recyclability of materials, guaranteeing high durability and longevity of the product.
SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
In addition to functional and sustainable design, proposals that culturally enrich and promote social values will be appreciated, such as:

➜ Inclusivity
➜ Collaboration
The product must be original and unpublished, its design must not have been made before.
The Andreu World International Design Contest offers participants an exceptional opportunity to gain international recognition, showcase their creative vision, and potentially see their designs move from concept to production.
Submission requirements:
The materials required to enter the contest are as follows:
➜ Prototype of the proposed piece at a scale of 1:5.
➜ Technical report on the project. It may include plans, diagrams, sketches, renderings, images, and video presentations.
➜ The video presentation is optional but recommended and will be viewed favorably. The ability to convey the concept of the project, as well as the clarity of the presentation, will be evaluated. If a person appears in the video, their face may not be shown.
Technical requirements for the video:
- Maximum duration: 2 minutes
- Recording format: Panoramic (horizontal)
- Minimum resolution: 1080p (1920x1080)
– Maximum resolution: 2160p (3840x2160)
- Maximum file size: 1GB
- Format: Any video file format is supported.
Optionally, participants may submit a second video in vertical format (1080x1920), intended for possible use on Andreu World's social media channels if they are selected as winners.
The models must be physically sent to the Andreu World headquarters along with the rest of the materials included in the project within the planned deadline.
Who may enter?
Students and design professionals from anywhere in the world can participate, with no age limit.
Prize:
The best design for 2026 will be awarded with €5,000. The second prize is €2,500. The jury will also announce 3 special mentions.
