ArtEffect 2025 Student Art Competition

ArtEffect 2025 Student Art Competition now is over!

The ArtEffect Competition 2025 recently announced for entries is a juried annual visual arts competition that calls all students in grades 6-12 who want to make a positive impact through their art.

Short description

The ARTEFFECT annual competition invites submissions from all students in grades 6-12 interested in making a positive impact through their art.

ArtEffect presents a meaningful opportunity for aspiring artists, scientists, historians, and all other students who want to explore their field of interest through a creative lens.

Students are invited to creatively interpret the story of an Unsung Hero by creating an original visual artwork, accompanied by a written Impact Statement (500-1,000 words).

Students may interpret the stories of their chosen LMC Unsung Hero in myriad ways including—but not limited to—a narrative sequence or story, portraiture, landscape, conceptual forms, symbols and abstraction. Multiple 2D and 3D mediums are acceptable for submission including paintings, drawings, prints, textiles, mixed media, digital art, assemblage, and sculpture. There is no size limit. In the Impact Statement, students discuss the Unsung Hero’s unique contribution, their creative process and interpretation, and plans for sharing their artworks with others.

This is the perfect opportunity for students to demonstrate their commitment to creative growth, interdisciplinary learning, and social impact.

The judging panel looks for compelling, original submissions that present a fresh perspective on an individual who took extraordinary actions to change the course of history.

Eligibility

All students in grades 6-12 are invited to enter.

Benefits

The Competition awards over $25,000 to young artists who create exceptional projects about diverse Unsung Heroes who changed the course of history, including a $6,000 grand prize and multiple prize categories.

Entry fees

The competition is free to enter.
