F(r)iction Fall 2025 Writing Contests

F(r)iction Fall 2025 Writing Contests now is over!

The F(r)iction Fall 2025 Writing Contests, international competition organized by F(r)iction, a literary journal published by the Brink Literacy Project, now is calling for entries inviting everyone worldwide to participate.

Short description

The F(r)iction Fall 2025 Writing Contests, international competition organized by F(r)iction, a literary journal published by the Brink Literacy Project, now is calling for entries inviting everyone worldwide to participate.

There are three categories:

Short Story: 1,001 to 7,500 words.
Poetry: up to three pages per poem.
Flash Fiction: up to 1,000 words per piece.

Organiser is accepting work, written in English, from anywhere in the world, regardless of genre, style, or origin and welcome speculative writing and experimental literature. Strange is good. Strange with a strong character arc is even better. Keep it weird, folks.

They seek work that actively pushes boundaries, that forces them to question traditions and tastes. If your work takes risks, they want to read it. They like strong narratives that make them feel something and stories they haven’t seen before.

All genres are welcome, but especially those that celebrate the weird, take risks with form and content, and are driven by a strong, unique voice. All submissions must be previously unpublished.

Any work previously submitted to F(r)iction for publication is not eligible.

Eligibility

The competition is open to anyone over the age of 13. Please note that if you are aged 13 – 16 and your work is selected for publication, organiser will require a signature from a parent or a guardian.
