Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2021: The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2021 has been recently opened for entries, organised by PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, now in its 6th year awards photographers whose work has demonstrated excellence in the field of photography.

➜ Short description

The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2021, a collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, will be awarded for the sixth time this year for a body of work that demonstrates excellence in the field of photography.

A professional independent jury of leading international professionals will review all shortlisted candidates anonymously and will select a photographer who demonstrates thought, quality, originality, and excellence in photography, as well as the potential to create a comprehensive body of work suitable for a solo exhibition.

The 20 finalists will be showcased in a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival in November 2021 in Tel-Aviv. During the course of that year, the winner will work on the exhibition together with PHOTO IS:RAEL’s Chief Curator.

➜ Submission requirements:

➜ You may submit 1 entry only.
➜ You can submit 6-12 images.
➜ Applications must be submitted in English.
➜ All images must be in JPEG/JPG format, at least 1000px on their long side and no bigger than 2MB each.
➜ There is no restriction to submitting work that has already been part of other photo competitions.
➜ Any manipulation of the photo is possible.

➜ Prize:

The winner will receive a $14,000 grant, composed of a personal grant of $2,500, curatorial guidance, and the production of a solo exhibition that will be part of the 2022 International Photography Festival.

➜ Entry fees:

Early registration rate is $42 and is available until 12 July 2021. After that date the rate will be $54. The fee includes a free entry ticket to the Photography Festival for all submitting artists.
