Northern Illustration Prize 2023 now is over!
Northern Illustration Prize 2023: The international prize for emerging and established illustrators 'Northern Illustration Prize 2023' returns for its third run and is open to any illustrator working anywhere in the world in any format or medium or context.
➜ Short description
The Northern Illustration Prize 2023, international prize for emerging and established illustrators returns for its third run.
The Northern Illustration Prize is one part of The Northern Festival of Illustration, a biennial celebration of all that is great about the diverse world of illustration.
The School and the Festival are based in the historic port town of Hartlepool on the north east coast of England. This summer the town hosts the world-famous Tall Ships Race and to celebrate this and the town’s maritime heritage the theme of the Prize this year is ‘The Sea’.
There are two categories:
➜ Emerging Illustrator (if you are within the first five years of your illustration career)
➜ Established Illustrator (working more than five years as an illustrator).
Illustrators are free to interpret this theme how they choose but they might like to consider:
➜ How the sea links us
➜ How the sea has helped to form our history and present – forming us.
➜ The Tall Ships race
Shortlisted entries will be exhibited as part of The Northern Festival of Illustration which will take place across July, August and September. Shortlisted artists will be notified in early July, the two winners will be selected by public acclaim and notified towards the end of September.
