’Physically Distant, Socially Connected’ Poster Contest: WHY Graphic Design Festival is calling for poster design submissions for its ’Physically Distant, Socially Connected’ Poster Contest, inviting all artists, illustrators and designers to make a visual statement about their challenges and hopes.

WHY Graphic Design Festival is calling for poster design submissions for its ’Physically Distant, Socially Connected’ Poster Contest.

With this poster contest inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, WHY Graphic Design Festival in Florence invites all creatives to contemplate the notion of physical and social distancing, to give tribute to the moments of connection and solidarity, and to celebrate our unbreakable human unity.

Since early March, the phrase that we could hear everywhere was the call to keep the social distance.

To stay away from each other is the hardest thing for human beings, as it goes against our nature, especially when it comes to difficult times. The natural survival instinct pushes us to stay together. When we are afraid, or under stress, when we are going through a hard change in our lives we lean on our beloved ones, we hold hands and hug, we talk and try to support each other. Being present for one another in the moment of hardship is one of the most important functions of the community. With this poster contest, organiser invites all creatives to contemplate the notion of physical and social distancing, to give tribute to the moments of connection and solidarity, and to celebrate our unbreakable human unity.

Submission requirements:

➜ subited poster need to be 70 x 100cm, verticaly oriented and saved as JPG, PNG, PDF or RGB, max. 10mb.

➜ all the posters must have been published after March 1, 2020.

➜ the posters need to be send at contest@whyfestival.com .

The winning poster will be announced during the 4th edition of the WHY Graphic Design Festival, scheduled for 12-15th November, 2020 at The Student Hotel in Florence.

Who may enter?

This contest is open worldwide both to design students and to professionals, without age limit.

Prize:

The winner of the competition will receive:

➜ one year free membership of WHY Cultural association, which will give discounts for all WHY events and a number of discounts with our partners

➜ a free weekend accommodation at the Student Hotel in Florence at the time of their choice

➜ a package of newly released font families from zetafonts worth 500 euro

➜ the possibility to present their work during WHY Graphic Design Festival
