Short description
Riva Industria Mobili S.p.A., a company selling its own solid wood furniture collection under the registered trademark of RIVA1920, promotes the 10th Design Awards “Light Up Your Idea” for the design of six STORAGE UNITS, to be included in the Riva1920 collection.
Organiser is open to proposals featuring innovative materials and welcome your creativity. The only requirement is that wood remains the primary element.
The projects having a simple and easy feasibility, but a high aesthetic impact combined with design, functionality and eco-sustainability, which best pursue the distinctive style of the Riva1920 Collection, will be favoured.
Environmental protection and a passion for nature are core principles for RIVA1920. The production process is grounded in the selection of high-quality raw materials sourced from certified reforestation areas. Every component is subject to thorough qualitative and functional compliance checks and makes use of vinyl-based glues and natural oil and wax finishes, ensuring an authentic and entirely natural product.
Each submitted project must be original and unpublished.
The Jury will favor submissions characterized by simple feasibility studies with strong aesthetic appeal that successfully integrate design and sustainability, while faithfully interpreting the unique style of RIVA1920 products.
The Selection Committee will evaluate the submitted entries based on criteria of originality, aesthetic and functional value, as well as quality of communication and presentation.
A total of six winners will be announced: three in the Under 26 category (participants under the age of 26), and three in the Over 26 category (participants aged 26 or above).
Winners will be announced and awarded at a dedicated event, with details to be disclosed at a later date. The results will also be published on the website www.riva1920.it in the days immediately following the award ceremony.
Submission requirements:
The following materials must be uploaded:
➜ 1 “Project Preview” Board in JPG format (max 10 MB): This will be the first board reviewed by the Jury and should visually present the overall project concept. The project name must be indicated on the board.
➜ 1 “Render” Board in JPG format (max 10 MB): A visual rendering of the design. The project name must be indicated.
➜ 1 “Technical Drawing” Board in JPG format (max 10 MB): Include floor plans, elevations, sections, dimensions, and materials used. The project name must be indicated.
➜ 1 “Descriptive Text” Board in PDF format (max 10 MB): A written description explaining the project concept and features. The project name must be indicated.
➜ Participation Declaration Form (individual or group): This form must be completed and uploaded. In the case of a group submission, it must be signed by all group members. The form will be available for download on the competition webpage.
Who may enter?
The competition is open to all participants, either individually or in groups. Each individual or group may submit only one project.
Prize:
The overall prize pool amounts to €9,000 and will be distributed as follows:
