The BARON Book Prize 2021 now is over!

The BARON Book Prize 2021: The BARON Book Prize, an annual prize, which recognizes book projects from emerging artists and image-makers who have created projects investigating gender, sex, sexuality and identity politics, now is opened for entries in its 2021 edition.

Short description

The BARON Book Prize is an annual prize, which recognizes book projects from emerging artists and image-makers who have created projects investigating gender, sex, sexuality and identity politics.

BARON is looking for un-published book projects from emerging artists and image-makers who have created projects investigating gender, sex, sexuality and identity politics. The submission could contain a written introduction, however, this is optional and can include work from any medium.

Organizer is looking for conceptual projects aligned with Baron's core themes; gender, sex, sexuality and identity politics. Submissions will have a concept and the construction of your book should have a rationale aligned with your concept.

The Baron Book Prize 2021 is judged by an industry panel, who will create a shortlist of the best submissions to decide a winner. The winner will be judged on their book’s concept and how this has influenced the rationale behind the construction of their book, outcome and design.

Judges include Rut Blees Luxemburg (artist), Mohammad Al-Hasani (Vice Versa distribution), Stephen Male (art director) and Cinsy Tam (assistant creative director and editor, BARON).

The winners will be announced in December 2021.
