The Powiatowy Instytut Kultury in Iłża is hosting the Second International Graphics Contest Icons of Freedom. The Truth – Iłża 2026, inviting participation from professional artists as well as students from art schools, architecture faculties, and faculties of fine arts at higher education institutions.
Short description
The Powiatowy Instytut Kultury in Iłża is hosting the Second International Graphics Contest Icons of Freedom. The Truth – Iłża 2026.
Participants are invited to create visual narratives in the form of poster artwork about heroes from different countries and illustrate what truth, justice, respect, and freedom mean to them.
All posters must be submitted in electronic form. Each artist may submit a maximum of 3 posters.
Who, in your country or hometown, would you consider to be embodiment of fight for freedom regardless of the consequences, even at the ultimate price – their life? Who do you respect for such relentless attitude? Who is an inspiration for you?
The announcement of the competition results will take place during the exhibition opening, scheduled for August 20th, 2026.
Prize winners will be invited to the opening ceremony of the exhibition of the Second International Graphics Contest “Ikony Wolności. PRAWDA” Iłża 2026. The organizer covers the accommodation cost for the winners (up to 2 nights in the PIK hotel in Iłża). Travel expenses of the winners are however, excluded.
Selected projects will be exhibited as part of the Second International Graphics Contest “Ikony Wolności. PRAWDA” Iłża 2026 exhibition, scheduled for late August 2026.
Submission requirements
➜ Files should be submitted in JPG/PDF format, with a resolution of 200 DPI, dimensions 100x70 cm (vertical), labelled with the artist’s surname, first name, and title of the work - Surname_FirstName_TitleOfWork.jpg (maximum size of the file is 15MB) along with a registration form.
➜ The submission should include a text file with a brief description (maximum 1500 characters), containing information about the person/group, who served as the inspiration for the creation of the work.
Eligibility
The organizers invite participation from professional artists as well as students from art schools, architecture faculties, and faculties of fine arts at higher education institutions to participate in this competition.
Prize
Selected projects will be exhibited as part of the Second International Graphics Contest “Ikony Wolności. PRAWDA” Iłża 2026 exhibition, scheduled for late August 2026. The three best projects will be awarded with 2,000, 1,500 and 1,000 PLN, respectively.
