7th Passepartout Photo Prize: Il Varco invites you to join the 7th edition of its Passepartout Photo Prize, an annual international photography competition born to promote and widen the exposure of emerging photographers worldwide.

Il Varco invites you to join the 7th edition of the Passepartout Photography Prize, a photography contest born to promote and widen the exposure of emerging photographers.

Passepartout Photo Prize aims to support the development of talented photographers from all over the world by awarding monetary prizes every year, organizing exhibition in a fine art gallery in the heart of Rome, publication in the annual catalogue as well as in their partners’ magazines.

Passepartout embraces innovative and original approaches to contemporary photography, allowing for various artistic languages applied to the photographic image, including, but not limited to, experimentation and fusion of different genres.

This is an open theme contest. Photographic works of any kind of artistic style, size and technique (digital, film and experimental processes, digital collages and other mixed media) are accepted.

The jury is a diverse blend of photographers, editors, gallerist, curator and educators that bring kaleidoscopic perspectives into the selection process.

This year’s exhibition will take place in Rome, Italy, in autumn. The exhibition will be hosted by 28 Piazza di Pietra Fine Art Gallery, an international gallery specialized in contemporary art of both emerging and established international artists. The gallery is located in the historic center of Rome where local and international visitors and art collectors gather. This modern gallery beautifully integrated and built on the ancient ruin of the Hadrian Temple structure is an impeccable site to display artworks of many genres.

➜ Who may enter?

The application is open to photographers from all over the world without any age limit.

➜ Prize:

Passepartout awards 1000 euros in a monetary prize to a winner of each edition, exhibition participation in a fine art gallery in Rome (Italy), and publication in the annual catalogue as well as in their partners’ magazines for selected outstanding photographers.

➜ Entry fees:

Early Bird submission fee is 20 Euros, for up to 3 images. Additional images up to 10 in total may be submitted with an additional fee of 4 Euros per image. After 6th June 2023 each entry costs 25 Euro.
