10th International Animation Festival Fest Anča 2017 now is over!

Animation competition Fest Anča International Animation Festival organized by o.z. Anča has recently launched call for entries for its 10th edition accepting animated short films, student films, music videos and films for children.

About Competition


Animation competition Fest Anča International Animation Festival 2017 has launched call for entries. Animated short films, student films, music videos and films for children are among the competition categories.
Its aim is to contribute to the development and promotion of animation and the animated film industry.

The Festival competitive program includes:

a) The international competition of short animated films – Anča Award
b) The international competition of student short animated films – Anča Student Award
c) The international competition of animated music videos – Anča Music Video Award
d) The international competition of animated films for children – Anča Kids’ Award
e) The Slovak competition of animated films – Anča Slovak Award. The prize is sponsored and awarded by the Slovak Literary Fund.
f) The Slovak film distribution competition – Anča D Award. The prize is awarded by Film Europe Media Company.

Only animated films under 30 minutes completed after 1st January 2015 are accepted into the Festival’s competition program. Only films with a majority of Slovak producers are accepted into the Slovak competition of animated films – Anča Slovak Award and into the Slovak distribution competition – Anča D Award.

Only films with English subtitles will be considered.

Only those submitters whose digital copies are delivered by February 28, 2016 will be considered for the 10th Fest Anča, June 29 – July 2, 2017.

Fest Anča’s purpose is to show contemporary, progressive animated films and commemorate the best of the genre’s history.

International juries will be composed of prominent representatives of culture, film theory, and film journalism, as well as filmmakers and producers.

Besides the international competition and the non-competitive thematic and regional screening sections, the festival offers lectures, exhibitions, workshops, concerts, film screenings for children and many other accompanying events.

Fest Anča will take place in Žilina, Slovakia between 29 June and 2 July, 2017.
