The Celsys (who developed the painting software Clip Studio Paint) officially opens the 5th edition of International Comic/Manga Schools Contest 2022, comic and manga contest, open to students worldwide.

The contest is an opportunity to have your work judged and critiqued by professional creators and boost your skills. This contest also aims to support young creators around the world and encourage more artists to create comics and manga.

This year theme is 'Journey'.

The judging panel for this year’s contest will be led by DC Comics artist Javier Fernández and include other professional creators and sponsors. The contest sets itself by providing the winning entries with detailed and specific critiques from the judging panel, which give not only the winners, but also other students, a springboard to improve their skills. Submissions may be created using any drawing tools or software. If you create your submission using traditional tools, please submit a digital scan of the artwork.

Submission requirements:

Submissions may be formatted for right-to-left or left-to-right reading.
There are no restrictions on language depicted in works.
File Formats: PNG, JPEG, CLIP (CLIP STUDIO format), less than 32MB per page
You can create your comic in any size, but we recommend using 300 dpi resolution for color comics and 600 dpi for black-and-white works.

The winner will be announced on Early July 2022.

Prize winners will have chances to have their entries published in sponsors’ media outlets. In addition to the Manga and Comic categories, there are many chances to win in the five comic-related categories in total, including the Bande Dessinée, Webtoon, and Storyboard categories, where students draw a comic according to an assigned manuscript.
